Story
In November 2026, I’ll be taking on the New York City Marathon — a challenge that I’ve always wanted to undertake!
This year was meant to look very different. After months of training, I was forced to withdraw from the London Marathon 2026 due to stress fractures. Pulling out was heartbreaking, both physically and emotionally, and not something I ever imagined I’d have to do.
But instead of letting that setback define the journey, I’ve chosen to come back stronger.
New York 2026 is my comeback — a chance to rebuild, to trust my body again, and to prove that setbacks don’t get the final say. And this isn’t where the story ends. I’ll be carrying this experience forward as I set my sights on the London Marathon in 2027.
I’m taking on this challenge in aid of Little Heroes Foundation, a cause that puts everything into perspective. On the hard training days, when motivation dips or the miles feel heavy, I’ll be thinking of the children and families who face challenges far greater than any finish line.
Every step I take is for them.
If you’re able to support my journey — whether through a donation, sharing this page, or cheering from afar — I would be incredibly grateful. Your support means more than you know.
Little Heroes Foundation is a South Australian charity supporting seriously ill children and their families.
They provide financial assistance, medical equipment, hospital and family support programs, and practical help during incredibly difficult times. Their goal is to ease the burden on families so they can focus on what matters most — caring for their child.
Every dollar raised stays local and goes directly toward helping children in need.
Little Heroes Foundation Incorporated
In 29 years of operation, Little Heroes Foundation has raised close to $40 million - the majority going towards purchasing lifesaving equipment at Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital and providing daily support to families through the Little Heroes Care Program. Little Heroes is also pleased to announce a new partnership with the Childhood Dementia Initiative. There are almost 90 deaths each year from this illness, yet little is known about the 70 different variants of this condition. The Foundation is currently running the campaign ‘Raise it for Renee’, supporting a South Australian mum with all three of her children experiencing the devastating impacts of terminal childhood dementia. Little Heroes has committed $50,000 to support Renee and families like hers. In conjunction with this campaign we are also funding a PhD student in Professor Kim Hemsley's team at Flinders University to assist them with finding potential treatments and cures for childhood dementia. Our partnership with Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation continues to grow through our Big Talks for Little People campaign, along with a new commitment towards an Eating Disorder Facility to be built here in South Australia. For more information on our organisation, please visit https://www.littleheroesfoundation.com.au/ As Little Heroes Foundation receives no government funding, the difference that we make to the lives of seriously ill children is not possible without the continued support of people just like you. Fundraising is such an important area for all charities, and thanks to Go Fundraise, it is easy to fundraise for Little Heroes Foundation.
